Peanut Free Foods

“Peanut-free” means that the food does not contain peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil or any peanut derivative, such as peanut stearate or traces of peanut, according to the Calgary Allergy Network. Exercise Good for What Ails Ya! Post 2

One of the ways that exercise strengthens the immune system is through the release of “beta-endorphins.” These endorphins are responsible for the feeling that is commonly referred to as the “runner’s high.” Surprisingly enough, exercise stimulates the immune system by the release of beta-endorphins. These endorphins in turn stimulate the production of “T” lymphocytes from the thymus gland with natural killer cell activity. These are the little guys who seek out and destroy foreign invaders in the body like a virus or bacteria. Exercise actually increases the number of these “T” cells, which is a good thing. (more…)

Leptin: A promise?

From the Leptin view point, there are obesities with increased and with decreased Leptin levels.

First of all, obesity is not created equal. From the Leptin view point, there is obesity with increased and with decreased Leptin levels. The ones with increased Leptin level are associated with very low sensitivity to Leptin and they represent the majority of all cases. However, in 10 to 15% of all obesity, Leptin levels are below normal, for example, it is true for Pima Indians. So, no matter what the reason — low level or low sensitivity — when Leptin does not work properly, obesity occurs.
